Simple Living

Yesterday was an ordinary day for me… not very exciting but this is my simple life – and I choose it!

  • Up at 6 a.m. began to paint the maple topped tea table, first coat of ASCP Graphite. Maple is such a lovely wood!
  • Rolled the primitive wall cabinet, shelves and door out into the sun. Baking out the smells!
  • Ran to two garage sales; bought three chairs, a camp stool, a set of amazing French wall sconces and a sweet iridescent Czechoslovakian canister with lid in an iridescent green/white combo. This I will keep to put my hair scrunches in.
  • Put a coat of ASCP Graphite on the camp stool.
  • Deadheaded flowers in the garden and watered all flowers in pots.

Maple tea table, dismantled, top glued, sanded and waiting for paint.

  • Cooked lunch, cooked dogs greens, baked shortcake.
  • Wash a load of laundry and hung on line to dry. Later removed and put away.
  • Second coat of ASCP on tea table and underside of camp stool. Put a coat of wax on vintage dressing table.
  • Read blogs, handled e-mails, returned calls.
  • Took photographs, downloaded jpegs, edited them.
  • Husband and I took dogs for a run and a swim, brushed and fed dogs. Treated ourselves to a rare purchased pizza and lemonade and enjoyed it overlooking the pond at the SW Michigan Land Conservancy natural area.

  • Cut stems off day lilies in garden while husband cut up tree branch that fell from big oak tree.
  • Soaked in the bathtub, began to read, Blog Marketing and in bed by 7:30 p.m.

Hope you enjoyed your day as much as I did mine!
