From My Hand to Yours

Lots of Vintage Charm at From My Hand to Yours, in Allegan, MI

A couple of weeks ago I visited a fun and eclectic shop in Allegan called from My Hand to Yours. This is retail shop and art studio that is an inspirational mix up of re-cycled, re-purposed altered goods, and art and antiques.

The brainchild of artist and business women Lorinda Emelanger, the business is the culmination of a long time dream – a place to make art, sell antiques and up-scaled items while firsthand contributing positively to living a greener lifestyle.

It a dynamic, fascinating business combo that serves a dual purpose  –  its part shop, part-design lab and a nurturing creativity center for its Hope College interns, owner, visiting artist, artist-in-resident and shoppers alike.  The space in fact serves a dual purpose: its part retreat and part design lab, nurturing creativity for Emelanders and her husband’s landscape design and contracting business as well as retail store.

Emelander has created a new an unexpected pairing of a quirky, vintage look with a dash of whimsy tossed in for good measure.

Shop hours vary depending on the season. The current hours are, Monday-Thursday 10-5:30, Friday & Saturday 10 -6, Sunday 11-4.

The shop is located at 3791 122nd/M40, Allegan, MI 39010. The shop phone number is 269-673-6700.

If you do stop in, please tell Lori I sent you!
