Today I made my first (of several) deliveries to my newest outlet, Made in Allegan, today. My dear husband and I took several pieces of my hand-painted furniture transformations, a few handmade papers on canvas fine art pieces and some vintage smalls. Gene helped me hang the canvas’, his speciality.
This is my newest adventure in selling in a local co-op shop/gallery/ that bills itself as “the best of locally made treasures (and furniture transformations –that’s me!”) at Made in Allegan, 229 Hubbard St. in beautiful downtown Allegan, MI
Allegan is a gracious, older town with an-old fashioned mostly restored downtown with vintage charm that sits alongside the lovely Kalamazoo River. This town is the kind of small town America of my youth where neighbors know neighbors by their first name, people pitch in and help each other out without being asked and kids still walk to school and meet in the park to play.
The shop resides in a lovely and gracious old building built in 1884 and owned by Kass Hilliard, a reflexologist and Reiki practitioner who owns the building that houses the two shops that sit side by side. The oldest shop, Reflexions Plus has been around for a few years and now, Made in Allegan is her newest venture.
Stay tuned for the November 9th, store opening date and the November 17th, open house celebration. Please join us!
