Handcrafted and Heartfelt Favorites for 2012

Small House / Big Sky – Top 12 Annual Transformations

Call me goofy but I adore the annual “Favorites” posting that furniture painters are sharing this time of year. Even though I’ve likely seen most of those pieces before, I just can’t get enough of chalk painted vintage furniture!

This is the first year I’ve attempted this “favorites” post and decided to divide it up into two sections of six posts each. The first section will be my favorite posts about the renovation process at the “Small House.”  The final six “favorites” will share my choices of vintage furniture transformations. I hope you enjoy them all!

THE SMALL HOUSE / BIG SKY SIX:

# 1 MOST CREATIVE TO PAINT – The Small House / Big Sky Playhouse:

My granddaughters playhouse (bought for $75.00 along the road side) now located in the meadow behind my art studio (seen in the rear of this photograph.).

# 2 WELCOME TO MY HOME FRIEND’S – The Small House Entry Garden:

The late summer entryway garden from the gravel driveway walking up the sidewalk to the three-seasons porch. This is the way friends enter my home.

# 3 MY FAVORITE ROOM IN OUR HOUSE – Our Three-Season’s Porch:

The glassed- in porch faces north and is usually shady, windy and cool. It overlooks our bird feeding bed and the shady White Oak trees that nestled up against the woods.

# 4 SMALL HOUSE FAMILY ROOM – Most Colorful Room in my Home:

When you live in a northern state where it is snowy white five to six months a year, color in the home is important.

#5 MOST RECENTLY REMODELED ROOM – The East Bathroom Remodel.

A new barrier-free shower tiled stall (not seen here), paint, granite countertop and sink were part of this 2012 bath remodel.

#6 MY ART STUDIO  – Where the Creativity Takes Place:
